Our Philosophy

First, this is what we know. Investing has become complicated. There are too many types of investments, offered by too many giant investment companies, which leads to too many claims and promises and expectations, which leads to – well, you get the point.

We believe in simplicity. And here it is.

You need only two kinds of investments:

1. For growth: Smartly managed, low-cost funds
   that buy most of the stocks in a market.
2. For stability and income: Reliable, cost-free GICs. Yes, cost-free.

It’s a little like the fable of the tortoise and the hare. The hare was speedy, but risked throwing out a knee in his haste. The tortoise on the other hand moved slowly, with no risk of injury, but nevertheless made steady progress. Which one would you bet on? Our way is to choose both – maybe a 50/50 balance. Your specific ratio will be determined by your taste for risk. No more guessing about interest rates and stock prices.
